The Supervisor will be responsible for the overall safety and the day-to-day operations of the summer camp. This includes all activity, staff, and campers. The Supervisor is responsible for program coordination, handling any major issues that may arise, and reporting daily to the Board of Directors. Supervisors will ensure camp area is prepped daily (including supplies) by teachers, responsibly overlook camp counselors, and coordinate as well as guide camp counselors. Supervisors must also maintain a positive Islamic environment among their staff and campers. This is a paid position.
Assist Board of Directors with administration, management, and supervision of a comprehensive summer camp program serving children. This includes planning, marketing and promoting, scheduling, executing, budgeting, training, and evaluating your respective camp.
Train, supervise, develop, and evaluate all staff at your location.
Collaborate with various on- and off-campus resources and constituents in offering diverse educational, yet fun based activities and sessions to children enrolled in camp.
Responsible for program coordination, managing the registration process, and logistics related to summer camp.
Provide the highest level of customer service to parents, students, staff, and children enrolled in camp.
During camp weeks, enforce MYCC Summer Camp policies, procedures, and regulations.
Recognize and respond effectively to emergencies; responsible for risk management.
Utilize online survey tool to gather parent feedback.
Staff must arrive 30 minutes prior to camp and leave 30 minutes after camp.
First-Aid and CPR certification (certification classes will be made available to those not yet certified, prior to the start of camp).
Strength and endurance to maintain constant supervision of summer camp.
Ability to communicate and provide necessary instruction to staff.
Ability to relate to staff and campers in a positive Islamic manner.
Ability to assist staff and campers in an emergency.
Must be enthusiastic, vocal, and energized and keep staff and campers engaged at all times.
Must be able to work well in an ambiguous and changing environment.
Must be goal oriented and self-managing.
Must be a team player and have the ability to align their work to the overall MYCC strategy.
A background in recreation preferred and a specialization in elementary or early childhood education.
